A FAILED North Korean missile launch is believed to have “exploded within seconds of launch”, the US military has claimed.

It is reported that Pyongyang tried to launch four missiles from near Eastern Motoyama, according to South Korea's ministry of defence, although this figure was later corrected to just the one missile.

But according to Kyodo News in Japan, the latest test by Pyongyang to show off its military might has failed.

US Pacific Commander David Benham: "US Pacific Command detected what we assess was a failed North Korean missile launch attempt the morning of March 22 in Korea (12.49pm Hawaii-time) in the vicinity of Kalma.”

South Korea's defence ministry also denounced the launch and said it was gathering more intelligence on incident.

The potential launch comes hours after the US warned Kim Jong-un was preparing for another missile onslaught.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer described North Korea as "grave and escalating" on Tuesday.

If you ask me, I think these guys need to stop while they're ahead before the poke the wrong entity and get themselves destroyed.
