State Republicans chose Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson to replace Tim Pawlenty as their nominee for governor in Minnesota.

Johnson has touted himself as the perfect compliment to president Trump while Pawlenty began distancing himself from Trump after the famous Access Hollywood tape in which President Trump can be heard boasting to Billy Bush that because of his celebrity status he was able to grab women "by the p***y" and that he would do so without their permission.

President Trump has been very divisive since he took office both inside and outside the republican party and party opinion of the president may have been a factor in their decision to support Johnson over Pawlenty.

Johnson will run against Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nominee, Tim Waltz in the November bid to replace democratic governor Mark Dayton.

My Commentary:
I'd really like to see the democrats keep Minnesota. We've been getting a small sweep of progressive candidates into office so I can only hope.

The only problem is, America voted en masse for one of the most progressive candidates we've ever seen (Bernie Sanders) and he won but the DNC stole our vote from us and insisted on trying to shove Hillary down our throats whch cost us everything and gave us our first meme president, so...

Here's hoping for a better future for my kids...
