Two kids in Iowa are in serious trouble for wrecking havoc at a honey farm. According to police, the pair, 12 and 13, killed over 400,000 bees. They are being accused of wrecking equipment and knocking dozens of hives last month. All of the bees ended up dying.

The owners of the honey farm said they were clearing snow off the hives when they discovered the dead bees. They went onto say that they found their supply shed and their hives completely destroyed.

One of the owners said the kids knocked over all of the hives, which killed all of their bees. He added that the shed was broken into and their equipment was taken and tossed into the snow. He said the kids smashed anything they could find, but it didn't look like they stole anything.

As for how much the loss was, the owners are estimating it to be around $55,000.

According to one of the owners, bee operations usually don't have insurance because they can't get it. He said their business didn't have coverage and that they were scared that they couldn't revive their six-year-old operation.

The good news is a friend of the owners launched a GoFundMe page, which has generated over $25,000 in donations. This is going to allow the owners to start rebuilding their business.

As for the kids, they are facing a number of charges. They are being charged with b burglary, criminal mischief and agricultural animal facilities. All are felony charges.

Such a shame that kids these days do these kinds of things for fun. I feel sorry for the owners and for the bees too.
