In the morning of Los Angeles, american actor Jamie Foxx confirmed that the long-discussed remake to Django Unchained is a sure thing and should start shooting soon.
Foxx made the announcement in response to questions from anchors on the Australian evening news show Sunset.
The actor said filming will likely begin within the next year. He added, “It’s definitely happening.”
Foxx has said in similar interviews that the film was in development and a strong possibility, but has not offered such clear confirmation.
The 2012 revisionist Western propelled Foxx to superstar status. Quentin Tarantino, producer of the original, had been dropping hints too. He twitted a concept poster of the remake, which currently goes by the name of Django Blockchained.
Some weeks ago, Tarantino had referred to the remake, explaining that his idea was "to create a wonderful allegory that teaches the world how Fiat money enslaves our hearts, and yet how it is possible to free ourselves with the power of our minds, combined with the power of the blockchain, and eventually also combined with the power of a lot of rifles and guns and bloodbaths".
