Luisito, a Mexican baby who is 10 months old, almost weighs 28 kilograms. Scientist don't know the cause yet.

At his birth on December 16, 2016, Luis Manuel Gonzales had a normal weight of 3.5 kilos (7 pounds). After two months he weighed 10 kilos (22 pounds), the next eight months doubled his weight again. "I thought it was because I had good milk," says his 24-year-old mother, Isabelle Pantoja.

Medical condition

Luisito may suffer from Prader-Willi syndrome, wherein children from their childhood age are having an insatiable appetite, but also mental restraint and weak muscles.

The boy's parents were contacted one month ago by surgeon Silvia Orozco. She said that he has a fat liver, and is therefore at risk of life. But he can still be helped. Orozco hopes that the ongoing studies will confirm that the baby is not suffering from Prader-Willi syndrome, and can overcome its overweight through a hormonal treatment.

Currently Luisito receives only skim milk, breast milk and vegetable and fruit shakes.
