# Bangladesh will pay tax on Facebook, YouTube, Google

Youtube search engine Google social network, Facebook and video sharing website Youtube, earning huge amount of money by advertising online in Bangladesh. But the government is not getting any revenue from these mediums. Even local media is being damaged. So, in this situation, the Internet has urged the media to bring them under the tax.
The matter was discussed in a pre-budget discussion organized by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Wednesday in the newspaper industry owners' organization Newspaper Honors Association of Bangladesh (Noab) and Association of Television Channel Honors (Atco) leaders. In this, the speakers call on Facebook, YouTube, Google to be brought under the tax.
NBR chairman said in their meeting in the meeting. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, "The reflection of the next budget will be there. There were so many days on YouTube and Facebook on this planet. Plane's day is over. Now they will be brought under the tax.
Nawab President Motiur Rahman said that due to free advertising on YouTube-Facebook revenue is going to be disrupted. Taxes have been imposed on them, even in the developed world including Europe. But this is not happening in Bangladesh. They are making huge amounts of money. The government is not getting any revenue. It must be brought under the tax.
No president said, "We are concerned about the future of the newspaper. To sustain this industry, to reduce the tax rate on import of newsprint, reducing corporate tax rates, advance income tax and VAT on advertising will be withdrawn.
In view of Motiur Rahman's statement, the NBR said, in the budget of the year 2018-19 fiscal, they will be brought under the tax. At this time, Nawab and Atko leaders demanded to emphasize the matter.
