There was an op-ed piece in the NYT a few weeks ago 'Maybe Trump is not mentally ill, maybe he's just a jerk.' Whatever the case, he is a mean spirited narcissist and his policies are very dangerous for not only the US but the world.

Narcissism's an illness.

Well technically it is a personality disorder which is still debated in the mental health community as to whether such disorders are mental illnesses.

They're actually the same thing, exactly.

"A mental disorder, also called a mental illness[2] or psychiatric disorder, is a behavioral or mental pattern that causes significant distress or impairment of personal functioning."

Illness is common parlance, whilst disorder is the professional term.

It's also formally acknowledged in the DSM, so it's definitely not debated... unless you're talking about antivaxers types that think moonbeams cure stuff.
