Hey thanks, yeah I read a ton of blogs and watched a ton of youtube videos trying to figure stuff out also. Pretty much the witness' are the life blood of the blockchain and the top 20 have a say in the direction of the forks from my understanding.
Glad to see you feature the article. Good to see you some other places other than @steemmonsters and i've enjoyed the videos for a while now.
What's kinda funny is you talk about introducing people to "steemit" and I kind of tell them they shouldn't introduce people to steemit the interface. That there are better interfaces for a new user to use that won't confuse the living daylights out of them.
But i understand what you're saying everyone (i used to be the biggest culprit) confuses the word steemit for when they should be saying steem or steem platform. Steemit is a name of a company that made the first front end interface for the steem blockchain. I think aggroed used to start off his show trying to differentiate the words for people. haha
Well outsiders will have a better grasp at the term "steemit" like "facebook". If you start to say steem (the blockchain) your more likely to confuse everyone.
Another issue is Many of us don't even use Steemit... been a long time since we used that site. And the popularity of the site is likely to decrease as others create better interfaces that are more intuitve and have the features other users actually want. And that's not a bad thing Steemit INC isn't very interested in running the user interface they're interested in the blockchain they've stated this and shown it through their actions. And kudos to them i understand their reasoning. They even give huge delegations and financially support other interfaces to the blockchain. They've all but said they don't want to run an interface. It's kind of smart of them... it's the interface that can be censored or get them in trouble with governments. etc
And other groups like us can be more creative... you see every single move Steemit INC does is attacked and critisized meanwhile interfaces like SteemPeak and busy can create lots of cool stuff quickly.
