Donald Trump imposes tariffs on Solar Panels

Trump’s administration imposed a 30% tariff on imported solar panels and washing machines saying that this decision was made in hopes of boosting the American companies. Critics however, say that this decision is a job endangering decision for the huge solar industry in America. It is also being said that there would be a rapid increase in pollution because of this imposition.

To some, this is a direct attack on the country’s economy rather than a blessing. While companies like Whirlpool Corp are in favor of the idea as it would promote their business in the country. This imposition of tariffs has made many industries to stop the construction of the panels.

This step by Trump is going to make the green source of energy expensive and hard to use for the Americans and hence, increase the use of the alternate and cheaper energy resources that cause pollution.

In the attempt to put ‘America first’, Trump seems to forget that his actions will affect the work force within the country who earn a living for their families. It is inevitable that great part of the economy will be drastically come towards a loss and there are more potential restrictions coming their way.

However, the bright side is what was initially intended that the companies working on the solar panels with an American origin have something to be happy about. Also this might even mean that more companies would be born in this industry which would otherwise die of because of the obvious lack of complacency.

Since this decision is only new and all of its effects have not yet unraveled themselves, this will be a challenge that America will have to face to strengthen themselves and their rapidly falling economy.
