Stuff like this needs to start happening across the country. I live in Virginia, not Northern Virginia where a lot of the people work government jobs & have a lot of money, but Central Virginia where people are low income minus the few rich areas in the region. The education system over here is a joke. Schools structures are broken, schools are being shut down due to budget cuts, teachers are getting large volumes of students & there are shortages for teachers, the list goes on. Schools aren't getting any kind of funding to get new resources. I went back to visit my old high school after I graduated in 2012. They're still using the same history textbooks we had that only go up to 2008.

What's worse is the region is divided between low income & high income. There are better looking schools in one half of a county compared to another and those better looking are also in better looking areas where a lot of high income families who can make these types of donations & fundraising to these schools while the others are having certain programs cut. The U.S. needs to focus on investing in its own future & infrastructure because, and I'll leave a quote from Hip Hop artist, Gang Starr,

"If we're not schooling the youth with wisdom, then the sins of the father will visit the children, and that's not keeping it real. That's keeping it wrong."
