One of the most widely used communication platforms in the world is facing some worrying issues.
According to American Forbes, a series of security errors were discovered inside WhatsApp and published on Github. These allowed access to the personal data of a WhatsApp user with the help of a malicious GIF that could access the breach of social network security.
Once this discovery was published on GitHub, WhatsApp urgently announced on the official blog that all users must update the app from their phone or tablet.
According to an official statement made by WhatsApp for The Next Web, the US company claims that this vulnerability has not been exploited so far, and the number of users who have been affected so far, if any, is extremely low.
WhatsApp released a security update for this issue in September.
