Bitcoin Conference in Miami Strip Club | Is this easy money a Curse | Please share Opinions

in #news7 years ago

Hey Steemians,

Bitcoin and Crypto currencies are most discussed topics around the globe since last years. Gradually it has gained so much popularity because obviously huge amount of money is involved. Many youngsters and kids too have made fortune out of it with doing almost nothing. Earning this easy money has been a piece of cake for few but as they say, easily earned money sometimes spoils us very defectively.

Referring to news on Business Insider, last month a North American Cryptocurrency conference for networking event was held in Miami where the attendees after the conference attended the nude strip club performances. Obviously the event was male dominated which made female attendees to leave the premises as they started feeling uncomfortable. Even the host of the event realized that holding the event in Miami Strip Club was a blunder mistake which should not have happened for a business conference. It too reflects the condition of the society we are living in that even like other businesses or cultures, the surroundings in Cryptocurrency sphere is also influenced by males and we don’t resist from such activities to make our female colleagues and coworkers uncomfortable. Few women from the event used their twitter handle to share their opinions as below!

Here it raises a very important question that these incidents happened due to amateurs & other people earning easy money with almost negligible amount of hard work or we care too less for the culture we are living in that we don’t even bother to restrain from such activities during our business networking events too. I completely understand that attending such events can be of personal choice and one can purposely visits clubs to their own wish but associating such acts to professional meetings, how is that correct? Is it the lack of maturity between people earning early & easy money or its high time we should start caring for work environment & respecting women whether they are our family members or our co-workers.

A formal meeting held in such an informal location! That's unethical.

If you ask me, I would say the reason that happened is because of the ease related to making it big in the crypto scene. Had it been there were some form of big time challenge involved in it, that would not have happened.

Bottom line is, it wasn't the best place to hold such a meeting.

Well said @fada.emma

You're welcome @pkalra

Your writing skills are phenomenal.
Perhaps you should tutor me...😉

Sure, let me know if I can be of any help. Thank you @fada.emma

One of the challenges I have is developing content though I believe I have relative ease with coining nice titles. For instance, I posted recently on the topic 'The La-ion' - which I coined from two words 'lamb' & 'lion'. What do you think of the title?

Sometimes, I developed the contents but fail to arrange them chronologically. If you could coach me on content development, I would be eternally indebted to you @pkalra.

Boys would be boys. Am Glad the organizers have admitted it was a mistake. I hope all ladies involved would still attend future conferences.
Things like this happen a lot let’s not build FUD based on the characters of a few rich kids.

I too hope the same for the ladies to attend again @kwazi

Totally unacceptable.
Bad overall image for bitcoin/cryptocurrency to the public.
