Stephen Hawkins (1942-2018)

Britain's most famous modern day scientist who dedicated his entire life unlocking the secrets of the universe left the world peacefully in his home near CAMBRIDGE university, BRITAIN,at the age of 76. Hawkins was also one of the most famous sufferers of AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS(ALS) the fatal neurological disease that paralyzed his body , but could not curb his contribution to the field of science especially in the modern world of physics.

I call him as an emblem of determination and an inspiration to all of us as being on a wheel chair with body immobile he had a zestful vibrant spirit.Hawkins fought to overcome the ALS disease for almost 5 decades.Unfortunately ALS left STEPHEN HAWKINS paralyzed and on wheelchair throughout. He could move only a few fingers on one hand and was
completely dependent on technology and others for almost everything ...from eating, bathing, dressing and later even his speech.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME published in the year 1988 got MR.HAWKINS to fame internationally . It made its way to the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS ,selling around 10 million copies in 40 different languages. It was also THE SUNDAY TIMES best seller for a period of 237 weeks.

"BLACK HOLES ARE MORTAL" this was the theory of MR.HAWKINS which awarded him with many awards including the NOBLE PRIZE. He redefined Cosmology by proposing that black holes are mortal. This raged a big fire in the field of physics..but at the end as his theory can not be observed or verified....was firmly accepted in theoretical physics. He had his own style of seeing the Universe , the mystery of black holes and the nature of time.

AWARDS:STEPHEN HAWKINS a name which is like an award in itself, was awarded to name a few...

THE ALBERT EINSTINE AWARD
THE WOLF PRIZE
THE COPLEY MEDAL
THE FUNDAMENTAL PHYSICS PRIZE.

A man of DIGNITY , DETERMINATION AND DEDICATION will always be remembered by his work in the field of science , still survived within his three children LUCY , ROBERT AND TIM.
