KANO Nigeria, Security authorities in northern Nigeria say a German engineer has been kidnapped by gunmen in the town of Kano.
Those who Witneas this said that several armed bandits killed a police Excort early Monday before the foreigner was adopted.
The police spokesman in Kano, Magaji Majia, confirm this and said that measures has been taking to fetch them out.
The German Foreign Ministry in Berlin Has not made a comment.
Kidnapping for ransom is not new in Nigeria, but abductions of foreigners in the north side are rare. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the engineer’s adoption.
“The Police Commissioner Rabiu Yusuf has since deployed powerful team of operatives and detectives to cordon the axis with a view to arresting the culprits and rescue the victim. Manhunt of the abductors is ongoing.
