Two members of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) were secured by Malaysian Royal Police. Both were arrested for unintentionally violating the border areas of Indonesia with Malaysia when the operation was done at night.
"They have orders to settle or block smugglers," said Kapendam Tanjung Pura, Colonel (Inf) Tri Rana Subekti, quoted by telephone on Monday (26/3/2018).
The two TNI soldiers detained by Malaysian Police are Kopda M Rizal and Praka Subur Arianto is a member of the Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) Yonif 642 / Kapuas. They were arrested on Friday, March 23, 2018.
After being detained for 3 days, both TNI soldiers could finally be free on Monday, March 26, 2018.
"So this afternoon there is a deal that can be released and returned to us, the situation is healthy, there is no problem So we respect their legal process It is a long time because it cut off the holiday there (Saturday-Sunday) We respect their SOP," said Tri.
