This is good news and a welcome development but this feature will do only little in curbing dissemination of fake news or spread of falsehoods.
Majority of Whatsapp users don't care to filter any message sent to their phone before sharing. They relish forwarding same to their contacts, whether the message has been labeled 'forwarded', it does not mean a thing to them.
The only sensible security feature is to engrave contact details (phone number and name as registered on telco service provider database) of the original sender as footnote to forwarded messages.
Even the 100th million recipient should see the original sender's details. The original composer is solely responsible for his message and with existent regulation and consequences for those that forward,it will gradually change.
Please verify the sources of some messages before forwarding.
Stop misleading people.
