South Korea’s largest messaging app operator with over 200 million users, Kakao, is planning to establish a unit focusing on blockchain technology this month, including a potential ICO. Han Jaesun, co-founder of local startup accelerator FuturePlay Inc, is expected to lead the new unit which it is believed to be a crypto exchange that operates similarly as its established Stock app, allowing users to purchase stocks from within the messaging ecosystem.
