Indeed, the French can take pride in their finally standing up to the powers-that-be and to their abuse of the power.

Clearly, this uprising is about the people's anger at a system that essentially abandoned them years or even decades ago. The global neo-liberalization of economies has reached a point where the 99% are truly beginning to realize where these policies are leading.

At least the French and now other Europeans are saying enough is enough. In the US (and to a certain extent, in my home country of Canada), most people are too complacent and deluded to understand exactly what has been happening to them.

This new "French Revolution" will continue, and it has already spread to Belgium and the Netherlands. Hopefully, it will also soon spread to the southern eurozone countries, too.

And, hope against hope, just possibly, it might spread to North America. Vive la revolution!
