One thousand tonnes of steel ribers or steel papers were sent from the port of Kolkata on Wednesday for the India-Bangladesh Friendship Thermal Power Project (Rampal Vidyut Project).

The Central Marketing Organization, located under the Steel Authority of India (SEL), sent this steel leaf to Mongla port of Bangladesh from Kolkata port by presenting a barge. This steel plate from Mongla port will be taken by road to Baitarhat's Moitree thermal power project area.

This project will be jointly organized by the Bangladesh Power Development Board and the National Thermal Power Corporation of India (NTPC). By 2020, two projects of 1,320 MW thermal power plant will be started. To this end, Seal will send 17,200 tonnes of steel sheet in the first phase. Originally, the pages produced in West Bengal's Baranpur, Durgapur and Bhilai Steel factories of Chhattisgarh were being sent.
