Bradley Manning, Julian Assange and Edward Snowden
Entitled Anything to Say
According to Euronews, .....the artist behind the work Italian sculptor Davide Dormino explains that he wanted to “represent three contemporary heroes who have lost their freedom for the truth.” He says that they act as a reminder of “how important it is to know the truth and have the courage to know the truth.”
The world has gone mad I say. I am pulled right, pulled left, yanked up and pushed down. I feel like a bouncy ball and can no longer recognize what is in front of me.
I have always held whistleblowers in principal, in high regard. The courage to speak up against the flow when something is terribly wrong or corrupt is unimaginable to me. Yes, I understand there are proper ways of doing it and some protection for the whistleblower exists. But I am also naive. These people also get killed and are never heard from again. Here in America you are most likely to end up in prison for mishandling confidential or propriety information. Without proof, your word means nothing, to obtain proof is likely a violation of the law. Piss off the wrong people and you could die in an untimely accident three days later. The current American presidential campaigns have not only voiced opinion but have become embroiled in a battle with wiki-leaks. Julian Assange claims to have proof that will send Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton to prison and threatens to release it; while opponent Donald Trump eagerly awaits his opponents demise, a bonus to him; he has also stated that Snowden is a traitor who should be imprisoned.
I don't know how much you know about these three people, Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Bradley Manning and their cases. You can certainly google the names and read all the for/against pieces written about them. This story isn't really about them. Its about the madness, the insanity. Here in America it is no secret that more whistleblowers have been imprisoned than ever before. Bradley Manning is in prison, Edward Snowden is in self imposed exile and Julian Assange is locked away in the Ecuadorian Embassy for protection.
America wants their heads on a platter. I am not saying all Americans feel this way. I am saying the government or establishment feels this way. The madness comes from stepping back and looking at the bigger picture. This statue unveiled today is depicting them as heroes........ in Berlin.
Well there is common a adage that says, the truth shall set you free and I find whistle-blowers not only to be patriotic and heroic, but also individuals of sterling character... in that, there is so much to lose when they expose what may be going on to everyone.
They may lose their life exposing the truth, and it could be about the Mafia or the shenanigans of government officials. I am therefore pleased to know that some of these are honored for posterity for their landmark contribution to freedom of speech and transparency in governance.
I've read that 90%+ of the American media system is under the roof of 6 large corporations. That the owners of these companies are buddy buddy with the politicians. So of course when the real truth comes out, big media blabs non stop how horrible it is that these people blew the whistle!
Yes what you have read is True
I would have to agree
used to be what journalist did . now they work for the establishment. just like cops.
