Hi Hiver!
I'm so excited to be able to author the first Global Update Newsletter of 2023. I'm Kamesh, a member of the Internet Society and a proud Early Career alumni from the 2022 cohort. I am taking over this edition of the Global Update to share some exciting news and, hopefully, a little inspiration for your 2023 plans.

Firstly, two Internet Society programs were nominated for the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) 2023 Prize and have made it to the final round! We need your vote so they can make it to the top!
Here's what is nominated for a prize:
The Early Career Fellowship Program. It helps those just starting out in their career get the skills and knowledge needed to get a foot up professionally, implement Internet projects locally and advocate for the Internet on the world stage.
The Designing and Deploying Computer Networks: Enhancing Women's Employment in Tech. This in-person training course equips learners with practical, employable Internet-related skills that are in demand, especially in developing economies.
It's all up to voting now–and that's where you can help!
Winners will have a chance to present their projects to a global audience of decision-makers and leaders at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum later this year. It's a real opportunity to advocate for an Internet for everyone.
These efforts are just a tiny example of what we can do together to protect the Internet in 2023 and beyond.
Thank you for your support,
Kamesh Shekar, 2022 Internet Society Mid Career Fellow

PS: Here is the link to the Early Career Fellowships and more information on how to take free courses to build your skills as a champion for the Internet.
Want even more ways to create the Internet for everyone? Donating 10 dollars to Internet Society's mission is a great way to do it!
That's a cool contest, thanks for the sharing =)
Good to see you here
