The Malaysia Airlines MH17 plane which crashed in July 2014 killed all 298 passengers and crew
The Dutch-led investigation said Malaysia's MH17 aircraft was shot with Russian missiles.
Wilbert Pauliseen, an official of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) said the Buk missile fired by the 53rd Russian Air Defense Brigade.
The brigade was founded in 1967 in Armenia, the brigade was sent to East Germany to face the Cold War.
The ground troops were later withdrawn from West Germany in 1992, and are now based in the Kursk region.
"All the missile carrier vehicles are part of the Russian military," Pauliseen told the Daily Mirror Thursday (24/05/2018).
Earlier in October 2015, the Dutch Safety Council said that the Boeing 777 aircraft was shot by Buk's defense system.
September 2016, JIT also obtained a similar conclusion that made Russia through spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarify.
"We can not accept the final conclusion they (JIT) say I bet they have not seen the whole evidence," Peskov said at the time, as quoted by the BBC.
MH17 carrying 283 passengers and 15 crew was shot while flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 17, 2014.
