Pornhub made the decision to activate the HTTPS on its entire site in March. The operation was highly publicized and it also had unexpected repercussions on one of the sites of Google.
Google dreams of a web both safer and more secure. In order to achieve its goals, the company decided to promote the HTTPS protocol in order to encourage site publishers to take the plunge.
Last November, it set up a new section devoted entirely to secure connections in its famous Transparency Report to show the progress of secure traffic over the last three years.
Adrienne Porter-Felt has worked for several years as an engineer for Google and is involved in the development of Chrome, its web browser.
Earlier in the week, she shared a strange graphic on her personal Twitter account, a chart corresponding to the Transparency Report's statistics. Generated with Analytics, it shows a peak of traffic and is accompanied by the following statement:
