The sniper of the Canadian special forces shot a warrior from the Islamic state's ranks of 3540 meters. Never before has a sniper been removed from a similar distance. The distance is more than a kilometer above the previous record set in 2009.
The Canadian army has confirmed a meeting with the media of the West, but does not provide further information on security concerns.
According to media reports, the bullet was shot from a high-rise in Iraq last month.
Video recordings and other data are available as a confirmed shot that was part of the defense against Iraqi security forces.
