I landed a brief interview today with Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia and governor of Ukraine's Odessa Oblast, who is currently touring Ukraine as a stateless man crusading against corruption and his ally-turned-foe, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
In the interview, Saakashvili said oligarchic, corrupt classes are running Ukraine and holding the country back, and a new political class is needed to turn the nation around.
On his citizenship battle:
"In any case, I will fight to the end. See, nobody expected me to be here. I'm here," Saakashvili said.
For background on Saakashvili's situation and what is going on in Ukraine at the moment, watch my report from earlier this week in Kiev:
Footage from Saakashvili's rally held today in the Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankisvk will follow in later posts. Stay tuned.
