Announced Petkom (Bitkom Association) specialized in information industries in Germany last Friday that about 53 percent of German companies have been spying, sabotage or data theft in the past two years, where attacks cause losses of 55 billion euros a year

Recently, several high-profile attacks, such as the WannaCry ransom attacks in May, and a virus called "NotPetya" that stopped production in some companies for more than a week, have killed some companies and millions of euros in a fraud called "CEO Fraud"

Arne Schonbohm, head of the Federal Office for Information Security, "Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationsstechnik" said that many large companies, especially those operating in critical infrastructure, were generally well prepared for cyber attacks. He added that many small and medium enterprises did not take the threat seriously.

The association found that some 62 percent of companies affected by the attacks were either current or former employees, while 41 percent of companies said the attacks were caused by competitors, customers, suppliers or service providers. The agency reported that foreign intelligence was responsible for 3 percent of Attacks.
