It's more a question of best practices and how to best engage with the community. Generic and complimentary comments that do not speak directly to the content of the post are unnecessary transactions that contribute to bandwidth issues and harm the blockchain.
Just like I noticed in one of my first posts: the control over so-called "free speech" here on Steemit is as bad as any on FB! And what's more, it operates EXACTLY like the Chinese "social scoring" system. If we "behave", like "good little steemians", according to steemit's rules, we get rewarded, and our score goes up. But woe be to the "bad" ones who dare to say anything the steemit controllers don't like! Their scores get lowered, and their comments get hidden from view! Methinks the communist "jews" must somehow have their tentacles in this platform as well... 🤔
