Electronic seal and lock service rules have been issued in Chittagong port again, 2018 Earlier, in the last three years, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued the rules twice, but the businessmen could not implement the service in the face of objections.
According to the rules, mandatory seal or lock service will be required to secure the import and export of the goods. However, no major change was made in this rule.
Meanwhile, businessmen have objected to the initiative to start a security like seal and lock service as before. They think that their cost will increase. Products are shipped to ensure enough safety as per the demand of the product exporter.
According to NBR rules, these lock or sealed services will be provided through private organizations. Electronic seal and lock service will be provided in the import or export container. As well as sealed or locked every covered van or truck product can be made. In lieu of seal or lock service, the first 48 hours will be charged 600 rupees. After this, you have to pay 50 rupees per hour. Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Siddiqur Rahman said in the first light, 'No such seal or lock is required. According to the demands of foreign buyers, we send the goods from the factory to the Chittagong port, ensuring the safety of the proper seal or lock. In this way, the cost per container costs 40 to 60 taka to ensure safety. Then why pay 600 rupees for the 100 meter road? '
Siddiqur Rahman thinks that NBR's new venture will increase the cost of businessmen. The cost of production of the exported goods has increased. In this situation, new costs are being increased. Owners will not accept it.
NBR has recently issued seal and lock service rules. As a result, the goods imported or exported through the port of Chittagong will be sealed or locked during transportation to the Inland Container Depot (ICD) or OFF located in Chittagong district. It is mandatory to admit it now.
The NBR's definition of definition of this security is that electronic seals are illegally hazardous or change-resistant to the high-power radio frequency identification devices (RFID) sealed with modern technology. Because its lock is attached to its external form, it provides security to the container of the product. The lock is the container lock or lock, which is connected to the RFID-based seal. So it will open and close the key with the key.
