Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that NATO and Western countries should not ignore Moscow's security concerns and that they should adhere to the list of demands that Russia published a few days ago.
Last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation published two documents in which NATO was asked to refrain from expanding to Eastern Europe, the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Although NATO leaders rejected the requests, Ryabkov said that NATO should not ignore Russia's opinion.
On December 17, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced two drafts on providing legal security guarantees from the United States and NATO.
Among other things, the documents state that the United States is required to commit itself to preventing the Alliance's further expansion to the east and the states of the former Soviet Union.
Also, the United States is required not to establish military bases on the territory of non-NATO countries and not to use military infrastructure for any military activities.
