Milei vindicated the policemen: 'They are the real heroes of this story'

in #news2 months ago

President Javier Milei reaffirmed his support to the Security Forces, highlighting their crucial role in the defense of the life, liberty and property of citizens.

During his speech, he highlighted the change in the approach to security promoted by his government and thanked the security forces for their work.

A change in the security doctrine

Milei pointed out that his government broke away from “barbaric guaranties ‘ and adopted an approach oriented to ’civic order”, which has led to a reduction in picketing and crime in cities such as Rosario.

This change, he assured, responds to a commitment with society to prioritize public safety.

Recognition to the heroes in blue

In his speech, Milei recognized the members of the Argentine Federal Police as “the true heroes” who risk their lives on a daily basis.

He also presented awards to outstanding officers, including Deputy Commissioner Guillermo Armentano, who suffered an attack while protecting the president during his inauguration.

Three pillars of security

Milei's security doctrine is based on three principles: “he who makes them, pays them”, the sanctity of public order and the clear distinction between those who uphold the law and those who break it.
According to the president, these values are essential for a state that protects victims and punishes criminals.

Criticism of previous administrations

Milei criticized past administrations for having “denigrated” the police forces and for having developed doctrines to defend criminals, which, he said, left society defenseless.

Absolute support to the Security Forces

For Milei, government support is essential for the security forces to carry out their work effectively.
He pointed out that his government not only demands commitment from the forces, but also trusts them and protects them against political pressures.

“The state must guarantee law and order.”

Milei concluded that the role of the State is to guarantee that laws are complied with. “Laws separate men from beasts”, he stated, assuring that today's Argentina has no room for the ‘degeneration’ that attacks institutions and the forces of order.
