Iran blocks internet
Iran blocks internet services in bid to quash protests.
Iran, in a bout to quash protests voiced over economic and authoritative concerns,
disabled it's population's access to Telegram and Instagram.
Officials have claimed that the blocks are 'temporary' measures, but it's safe to say they'll continue for as long as the Iranian government believes the protests pose a mounting threat to its authority. The country has a history of blocking Instagram, VPNs and other services that help residents access the uncensored internet. The question is whether or not this will be effective. As Egypt learned early this decade, a sufficiently motivated public isn't going to stay off the streets just because they can't get online. There are frequently ways to get around censorship, too. In short: blocking like this is more of a momentary roadblock than anything else.
Solution to Government imposing on it's people
We need more decentralization in times like these, where we are constantly spied upon and restricted by government rule.
They also block VPNs in IRAN, but with cryptos, blockchain and other technology on the rise, I`m sure it will become easier for citizens to fight for their rights, even against authoritarian governments.
For people like these - to give another example: hundreds of activist bloggers killed in Bangladesh by islamists - we need more decentralization, Anonymity in Connection (e.g. VPNs, Proxies, TOR, Darknet,) and Encryption (e.g. Truecrypt, Veracrypt).
Cryptocurrency and blockchain could better their plight a swell and provide funding for protests and activists' activities.
I'm sure 2018 will be a good year for cryptos, for us it might be a luxury or novel item, but for others it will be the difference between life and death in the future.
Keep that in mind, as you turn profits 👍
