I would most definitely search the USB Stick, if even just to find the owner, as there are often important things on them. A backup copy of all my wallets resides on a USB of mine.

What you wanna do to be as safe as you can, aside from using a good malware cleaner, is to ensure to open the stick within a Virtual Machine, like Sandboxy, Oracle VirtualBox, Etc.
