The leader of the hacker group "Humpty Dumpty" Anikeev went free

MOSCOW, August 6 - RIA Novosti. The leader of the scandalous hacking group "Humpty Dumpty" Vladimir Anikeev left Lefortovo prison, RIA Novosti reported on Monday his lawyer Ruslan Koblev.

"He became one of the first lucky ones who were released in connection with the recalculation of the number of days spent in the SIZO," he said.

The lawyer added that his client intends to continue to deal with cyber security. "In the near future, he will come to himself and decide on the following actions," - said Koblev.

President Vladimir Putin signed on July 4 a law that stipulates that one day of detention in jail is counted as one day in prison and correctional colonies of special and strict regime, while serving a sentence in a colony of general regime and an educational colony in a day and a half, serving the sentence in the colony-settlement - for two days.

Earlier Anikeyev's defense repeatedly filed petitions for his parole. At first it was rejected by the district court, then this refusal was confirmed by the Moscow City Court, but as a result, the presidium of the Moscow City Court nevertheless referred this issue for revision, having found violations of the procedure of judicial proceedings.
Anikeev was sentenced last July to two years in prison. The case was examined in a special order, which implies full confession of the defendant's guilt.

The participants of "Humpty Dumpty" opened the mail of high-ranking officials and officials and then, according to the investigation, they were selling correspondence on the Internet exchange for bitcoins. They themselves deny that they pursued any political goals or blackmail.

The hackers allegedly hacked the mail of six people, including the press secretary of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Natalia Timakova, the general director of MIA "Russia Today" Dmitry Kiselev, Timur Prokopenko (working in the presidential administration), and presidential aide Andrei Belousov.
