The effect of walking for 20 minutes a day

Walking around the park for 20 minutes a day can reduce stress.

Researchers at the University of Michigan in the United States have found that a 20 to 30 minute sit-in or rest in a park-like place that can feel like being in nature can lower the stress hormone cortisol by about 10 percent.

In this paper, the researchers explained that although the effect lasted for 30 minutes, it then decreased sharply. In other words, 20 ~ 30 minutes is the optimal time for walking to reduce the stress.

"The study shows that the best way you can do to effectively lower the cortisol levels is to have 20 to 30 minutes in a place where you can feel like you are in nature," said Dr. Mary Carroll Hunter, "He said.

"It does not have to go to the suburbs," he said. "It might be enough to get out of the building and just sit next to the tree or flower."

So let's all practice now!

If you do not have any trees or flowers nearby, let's take a walk around the park, while reminiscent of a dense forest in your head. If you take a walk for two consecutive days, you will feel that your body and mind are much healthier than before.
