Online distribution channels have consolidated, with four major players taking the lead: Airbnb, Priceline-owned Booking.com, Expedia-owned HomeAway (and VRBO.com), and TripAdvisor. Phocuswright’s 2016 study “A Market Transformed: Private Accommodation in the U.S.” reported that “while property management websites held the advantage as recently as 2013 [just under 60 percent], online intermediaries will capture 63 percent of the online market in 2016, rising to 70 percent by 2018.”

Sounds like a great team that you guys have. The vacation rental market is booming. I recently took a trip to Monterey where the hotel prices are insane (pebble beach & spanish bay). We stayed in the 17 mile drive and by renting a house with our group of 6 we saved well over $1000 dollars. Also felt that our experience we had was better than the local hotels we have used in the past. Lol at all these "bot" people spamming "great post!" below. smh
That sounds great @golfncrypto by renting a home you saved a lot since they are nearly always much cheaper than hotels. Especially when traveling in groups. The sharing economy will keep growing, even on steemit now :)

OTA's and the more vacation rental specific ones, such as HomeAway network (Now Expedia), Tripdvisor Network (includes holidaylettings, flipkey and Niumba) and hotel ones now focused e.g Booking.com really don't have a solution to the multiple problems: lack of synchronisity for real time booking, millions of individual part time owners, crazy cancellation polices, damage deposits, vetting of guest (although Airbnb just bought a company to automate it) and price and cost management levels can be so high its better to refuse a booking than take it.
We did 2017 prediction which seems to be coming true, which includes OTA direction. Anybody out there thinking of buying and renting its not a cottage industry anymore!
