FBI Director Comey was just fired in an open letter from President Trump. Here is the pinnacle of his offense, in my opinion:
// TRANSCRIPT START //
Senator: was there classified information on former congressman Weiners computer?
Comey: yes
Senator: who sent it to him?
Comey: his then spouse Huma Abedin appears to have had a regular practice of forwarding emails to him for him I think to print out for her so she could then deliver them to the Secretary of State.
Senator: did Congress former congressman Weiner read the classified material?
Comey: (pause) I don't... I don't think so. I think is descriptive I don't think we've been able to interview him because he has
pending criminal problems of other sorts, but my understanding is that his role would be to print them out as a matter of convenience.
Senator: if he did read them would he have committed a crime?
Comey: potentially
Senator: would his spouse had committed a crime?
Comey: Again potentially. it would depend upon a number of things.
Senator: is there an investigation with respect to the two of them?
Comey: there was. we completed it.
Senator: why did you conclude neither of them committed a crime?
Comey: because with respect to Miss Abedin, in a particular, we didn't have any indication that she had a sense that what she was doing was in violation of the law and couldn't prove any sort of criminal intent. its really the central problem we have with the whole email investigation was proving that people knew the secretary and others knew that they were doing so that they were communicating about classified information in a way that they shouldn't be and proving that they had some sense that they were doing something unlawful. that was our burden and we weren't able to meet it
Senator: so she thought it was okay to send her husband the information?
Comey: well I think I don't get too much into what she thought we could not prove that the people sending the information either in that case or the other case with the secretary within any kind of mens rea, any kind of criminal intent

"Over the past year, however, the FBI's reputation and credibility have suffered substantial damage, and it has affected the entire Department of Justice. That is deeply troubling to many Department employees and veterans, legislators and citizens."
"I cannot defend the Director's handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton's emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken. Almost everyone agrees that the Director made serious mistakes; it is one of the few issues unites people of diverse perspectives."
"The Director was wrong to usurp the Attorney General's authority on July 5, 2016, and announce his conclusioon that the case should be closed without prosecution."
"The Director now defends his decision by asserting that he believed the Attorney General Loretta Lynch had a conflict."
"Compounding the Error, the Director ignored another longstanding principle: we do not hold pres conferences to release derogatory information about the subject of a declined criminal investigation."
"The Director laid out his version of the facts for the news media as if it were a closing argument, but without a trial."
"It is a textbook example of what federal prosecutors and agents are taught not to do."
"Although the President has the power to remove an FBI director, the decision should not be taken lightly. I agree with the nearly unanimous opinion of former Department officials. The way the Director handled the conclusion of the email investigation was wrong. As a result, the FBI is unlikely to regain public trust until it has a Director who understands the gravity of the mistakes and pledges never to repeat them. having refused to admit his errors, the Director cannot be expected to implement the necessary corrective actions."
Yeah, ignorance of the law is no excuse. If you did it, you did it.
Finally, starting to see some real justice being meted out...hope he keeps going all of the way up the food chain...don't stop to until all of the criminals are in jail....Lynch, Rice, Clinton and the list goes on.....
No shortage of targets in this swamp.
I believe Trump has an actual list of "political operatives" within the beltway. Watch as several resigned already, others are about to get the boot. Stay tuned.
Glad to see he is gone! He should have been fired the first day trump took office.
I'm of the mind President Trump was letting enough rope out for Comey and anyone in concert with him to hang himself... only took about 7 months.
Well I hope we see more of this with all of obamas criminals he put in place. Maybe the pace will pick up now. We can hope.
This is the best news we could hear all month! Comey...ya fired!!
Good rundown of exactly what an absolute joke Comey is. I watched this entire exchange when it happened and was floored.
Thanks for the update. What an assh*#e... WILL KILLERY TAKE HIM OUT BEFORE HE CAN TALK?
I'd put bigger bets on a war breaking out or the Clintons fleeing the country before that happens. The veil can not be pulled!
Wasn't all this known 6 months ago during the election? Why did Trump wait so long?
Also, what will happen to the investigation on Russian connections to Trump's election team and Flynn? Didn't Sessions recuse himself from that investigation because he was also on Trump's election team? Now he's turning around and recommending the person who is leading the investigation be fired?

Is it a coincidence that Trump fired Comey the day after Sally Yates testified that she warned the White House multiple times about Flynn's undisclosed connections 18 days before they took any action?

If there was any legit evidence of collusion between Russia that would have damaged President or Candidate Trump, you really believe the NYT/CNN/MSNBC/ABC/NBC/CBS wouldn't have released it all over the place by now? Or any of the MANY leakers in the deep state wouldn't have leaked it?
Sally Yates also refused to execute a lawful order the day she was fired. More coincidental.
Still waiting on evidence. There is ACTUAL evidence on Hillary's crimes available at WikiLeaks. INCLUDING intent, even though its not required in the statute.
FBI have shot unarmed people in cold blood. The only known organization as rouge is the CIA.
