Alec Baldwin & Antonio Banderas In Blockchain Backed Lamborghini Biopic

in #news6 years ago

Modern-day Hollywood icons Alec Baldwin and Antonio Banderas have signed up for a biopic based on the life of Ferruccio Lamborghini. The movie will start filming in 2019, and is believed to be the very first Hollywood production which is co-financed by a blockchain based company – TaTaTu.

Two of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood – Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice, The Hunt For Red October, 30 Rock, SNL) and Antonio Banderas (Interview With The Vampire, Desperado, Zorro, Puss In Boots) are to team up in a biopic based on the life of legendary Italian sports car builder Ferruccio Lamborghini. Banderas will play Lamborghini, while Baldwin will play his arch-nemesis and fellow sports car legend Enzo Ferrari.

What makes this film very interesting from a cryptocurrency perspective is that it will be co-financed and co-produced by TaTaTu, a newly launched blockchain-based social entertainment platform. “Lamborghini – The Legend” as the movie has been tentatively named, is set to become the first Hollywood movie, and one of the first high-profile projects of any kind, to be backed by new blockchain technologies.

About “Lamborghini – The Legend”

Lamborghini – The Legend will star Antonio Banderas in the title role of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the man behind such beasts of the road as the Miura (pictured below) in the 1960s, the Countach in the 70s, the Diablo in the 1990s, and more recently the Murcielago and the Gallardo.

Today the Lamborghini brand is synonymous with new wealth, and the recent CoinDesk sponsored Consensus Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Conference in Manhattan grabbed global attention for the gleaming new Lamborghinis parked bumper to bumper outside the Hilton Hotel on opening night.

Following WW2, Lamborghini had built agricultural machinery such as tractors, while the Italian high-end performance car market was dominated by Maserati and of course, Ferrari. Legend has it, in the mid1960s Ferruccio Lamborghini – who was very wealthy - owned a Ferrari with a troublesome clutch. He drove it to the factory to discuss the matter with Enzo Ferrari (played in the film by Alec Baldwin) – engineer to engineer – whereupon Ferrari told Lamborghini to stick to building tractors.

A furious Ferruccio promptly decided he too would build supercars, which of course angered Enzo Ferrari and led to the pairs bitter rivalry, and that is the crux of the movie.

Sharing finance and production for the movie with TaTaTu will be the Ambi Media Group. The film’s script will be written by Oscar winner Robert Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) and it will be directed by Michael Radford (White Mischief, Elsa & Fred). It will be based on the book “Ferruccio Lamborghini. La storia ufficiale” written by his son Tonino Lamborghini, and it will be shot in Italy.

Who And What Are TaTaTu?

TaTaTu.com are a brand new blockchain-based social entertainment platform, who claim to be the first such platform to “reward its users for sharing and watching movies, music videos, sports content & more.”

TaTaTu was launched earlier this month by Ambi Media Group co-founder and CEO Andrea Lervolino. Lervolino is 29-year old an Italian-Canadian film producer and entrepreneur. Lervolino’s production credits include 2004’s Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino, and the upcoming Lamborghini biopic starring Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin and featured in this article.

TaTaTu will offer movies and videos, music, sports, and games. It will become a 360-degree entertainment platform that allows both consumers and content creators to monetize their content, and content viewing, transparently.

The TaTaTu white paper states that:

“TaTaTu will be a fair and transparent social media and entertainment platform. People will be rewarded for both creating or providing content and for watching it.”

Andrea Lervolino certainly has very high hopes for TaTaTu, and he is clearly a big believer in the power of the blockchain. He sees his new company becoming an entertainment powerhouse within a few years, then going on to become the biggest platform of its kind online:

“Our goal is to reach one billion subscribers worldwide in six years to become the first premium advertising platform in the world. Eventually, by developing and nurturing a community of dedicated and engaged users, we want to become the largest internet based social media entertainment studio in the world.”
