Taiwan's economy minister announced on Wednesday August 16, 2017, his resignation due to the crisis that hit his country on Tuesday because of power outages in many provinces.
For her part, President Tsai Ing-wen apologized to her people for the interruption of electricity for several hours as a result of the damage of a generator that affected about 6 million families and pledged to solve the crisis as soon as possible.
"The government is working to promote green energy to avoid the current situation where the accident and the accident at one power station affected the country's energy supply," Tsai said.
