We Must Protect Free Speech At All Cost

Political repression is the persecution of an individual or group within society for political reasons, it can only be prevented with free speech. The rise of a socially progressive culture allows those that control the media to use the intolerance of intolerance as a political weapon of repression. A political party can leverage this by targeting marginalized groups and supporting their cause. First they have to create a reality that feeds into the narrative of oppression of these marginalized group. They include blacks, women, the lgbt community, and immigrants. Media will talk more about diversity issues, gender inequality, immigration issue, and gay rights. The political party will then fund causes such as black lives matter, safe space, feminism, and LGBT.

As an oppressed group ignored by the majority, a political party giving them a voice will gain them instant loyalty as they are addressing an injustice felt by the oppressed. Racism, sexism, homophobia can then be used as a political weapon of repression. With full control of the media and loyalty of the marginalized groups they can attack individual people and groups by labeling them intolerant of a marginalized group. This creates moral panic, a feeling of fear spread among a large number of people that some evil threatens the well-being of society. These marginalized groups armed with a political voice will become vocal and aggressive towards the target. Even if the accusation is false, any defense by the targeted group is seen as justification of oppression. This is an exploitation cognitive dissonance, the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change. For the marginalized group, contradicting information is ignored because it is inconsistent with their emotional outrage and moral panic. In their eyes they are the oppressed and the targeted group is the oppressor. Anyone that defends them either racist, sexist, or homophobic or in support of it.

This forces supporters of the politically repressed to be silenced and any dissenting opinion from the opposition's supporter will be associated with condoning racism, sexism, and homophobia. It prevents any meaningful dialogue and will be reduced to demagogy and the marginalized groups will resort to personal attacks of the other support base. Associating them with low intelligence and being uneducated, accusing them of being or supporting racists, sexists, or homophobic. This results to personal attacks from both sides. The winner is the political party in control of the marginalized groups.

This is an attempt of thought control. This creates a paranoid society where people will be afraid to say things that can be seen as offensive. Marginalized groups and their supporters will be green lighting, looking for things to attack people on and tell them what they can and cannot say because they believe they sit on higher moral perch. Others will have to think before they speak. They only failed this time because it didn’t work on Donald Trump. Most people already had a negative view of Trump. His life was already in public eye; it was hard to fabricate things on him. The only thing that could be used was racism and sexism. Allowing one group to determine the meaning of words, what words can and cannot be used, what is and is not offensive is not free speech. This has to be eliminated, free speech has to be protected.
