Hyperloop One has signed a contract to build a high-speed rail in the UAE to be the fastest transit vehicle in the world, starting with a line connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
"The city has priority for them and will do everything possible to implement the project," said Rob Lloyd, chairman of the company, at a conference on Tuesday November 8, 2016 between the company and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.
The train, which is supposed to run 1,200 km to reach Dubai in the UAE capital in 12 minutes, is based on the Hyper Loop technology, which is a low-pressure pipe that helps increase the speed of the train.
The company is expected to disclose details of the project in the coming period.
Professor David Bailey told the BBC that the experience of establishing a high-speed rail in the UAE is more practical than any other. Desert nature allows the railway to be extended straight away from curves and twisted roads.
The new train will arrive in the Saudi capital of Riyadh in 48 minutes, Doha in 23 minutes, Kuwait in 36 minutes, and is expected to start the first train in 2021.
The company also announced that it would establish high-speed rail lines in Russia, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands.
