Why was the Israel-Argentina football friendly suspended? Simple: religious fanaticism. A "fanaticism" that sadly every day reaches more and more areas of society. Economic boycotts, retirement of embassies, divided families, and now the sports field are some sequels of this ill-named "holy war".
It is really regrettable that after having made the promotion of the game, sell 20 thousand tickets in record time, imagine Messi walk the Kotel and walk through Jerusalem, unexpectedly suspend everything. If Palestine (?) has a problem with Israel, what do football lovers, organizers, and even more, players have to do with it?
The point is that once again the black hand of religious fascism, and the neo-Nazi spirit of this time, has prevented an historic international event from taking place in Jerusalem. Out of sheer envy, there is no other reason. When it was proposed to carry out this event, did not the organizers of the Palestine-Israel millennial conflict know? Did they find out about it twenty-four hours before the match or did they end up yielding to external pressures from some pro-Palestinian agent?
My clear and simple question is: What does one thing have to do with the other? What does religion have to do with sports? Nothing, I know, absolutely nothing. But personal, passionate, religious, geopolitical, and totally retrograde interests have once again triumphed.
I, once again, say NO to this kind of sports embarrassment. Bad, very bad Argentina. Blessings.
