After Chaos Legions are unleashed today, Alric Stormbringer is not a starter card anymore. Today, people play less water magic. One of the reason is because people need to buy or rent him (unless you have him)
Now people are starting to play earth magic more, because of the new starter summoner Obsidian.
The only catch is her mana cost is 4 (1 more then alric)
For people like me who prefer to use starter cards (which are free), there are a lot of new magic monsters to use.
Mycelic Slipspawn
This is a good tank, he has Taunt, 10 Health, and 2 Magic (+1 with Obsidian)
Regal Peryton
With Flying and 6 Health, this can also be mini tank or back card. With 5 Speed, he will almost always attack first
Goblin Psychic
I personally adore Tank Heal. Combine this card with Wood Nymph with Big Tank like Mycelic Slipspawn or Kron the Undying, there will be a sure win.
