I believe so but the question then becomes who created the matrix that the Aliens are in ?
That's a good question. I think it goes beyond what is known. But if it is to risk, I would say that they are humanoid, biological hybrid / machines, living in a different time than ours. Orchestrating intergalactic functioning.
