Tom @techbait intro

Hi Steemit! I'm not sure what took so long for Steemit to show up on my social radar, but better late than never.

I've been in the tech sector for 23 years now, and technology has been a wild ride, since I was growing up just as all of this technology was starting to grip our lives.

I don't want to be too long winded, so to make a long story short, I ended up in the enterprise software industry working for a few enterprise software developers as a software tester and also a UNIX and Windows systems administrator. I worked awhile for a company called Novadigm, which made desktop provisioning software, and they were bought by Hewlett Packard, for whom I worked for for 5 years before the layoffs hit. I then worked for Macmillan Higher Education's learning management system unit, and then I went on to work for a public entity where I am now.

I have a very active non work existence. I run several blogs. Some are internet marketing blogs, while one is a foodie blog and another is a cryptozoology blog. I don't have much time to populate the last two, but I try.

The blog that I will link to here as part of my personal verification is my technology and cryptocurrency news blog named Techbait. On this site I parse Cryptocurrency and technology related RSS feeds to serve to whoever wants to use the site for a techie news fix. I also make some posts about tech and crypto subjects, as time permits.

I am also a husband and a father.

@techbait is a big believer in where cryptocurrency is going and how it will hopefully make currency more equitable and fair. The various use cases for the different blockchains are inspiring, and I really thought for awhile that most tech things had been invented. This goes to show that even a tech sector guy can get it really wrong.

I hope to write about similar subjects on Steemit and also be a part of this vibrant place.
