In 2017, Xiaomi released Mi 5X which became known in the global market as Mi A1. This phone became Xiaomi's first device that was run with plain Android OS.
The Mi A1 age is short on the market, because seven months after the market, Mi A1 production is reported to be stagnant. Even so, that does not mean Xiaomi completely stop using pure Android for its devices.
Widespread speculation on the internet says Xiaomi will rebranding Mi 6X as Mi A2, as it did on Mi 5X. However, one Xiaomi representative claims if there is no Mi A2 mobile phone, but the production of pure Android phones as the successor of Mi A1, will continue.
"There is no phone with that name (Mi A2) but we will make more Android One phones", said one representative of Xiaomi like KompasTekno summarized from Digit India on Thursday (31/5/2018).
