The truth about Network Marketing

in #network7 years ago

So I have been active in Network Marketing for about 20 Months by now (Okt 17 - May 18). Before this I was learning about personal development and I was hearing allot about Network Marketing and about how fair the MLM compensation structure is. We all work in a pyramid. At work we have a manager or multiple managers and the manager has a manager, a boss and a director or business owner. What is a business owner we will discuss in another blog but just for the sake of explaining a pyramid structure. The government, the church and most organizational structures have this shape.
With network marketing you will learn lots of skills that you will need in business. You will learn how to talk to prospects, how to give a presentation and how to organize events. You will learn how to promote and give value to your organization. These are crucial skills for building a business. What you won’t learn is how to make a financial business plan, how to make business decisions and decisions on products and pricing. This is all taking care of for you.

Choosing a Network Marketing Business/Product

  1. Should I recruit to make any money? If the answer is “No” go to question nr2. if “Yes”, you will have to pass on this one.
  2. Is it a product or business you can be passionate about?
  3. Is the product or business fits your lifestyle?
  4. Leadership. Can you learn something from your sponsor? Do you like her/his style?
  5. Timing. Make sure the product or business will still be relevant after the passing of time, hype and popularity.

Why did I choose for Network Marketing (as side business)
People do buy stories, idea’s and I want to be good at sales. Telling my own story and experiences I was connecting more with anyone I talk to. By show them that I am my main character in my own story I was leading and creating momentum. By being an example and telling my story, I am helping others.

Why I do love the opportunity?
When I was about 10 years old I wanted a Sony Walkman. I loved Michael Jackson and wanted to listen to him every time every and where. So I wanted this device. A Sony Walkman. Plus it was cool to have one at this age. So I go to the local grocery store around the corner where I was living, and helped people bring their groceries to their cars. When I helped them I got commission for my willingness to help. Commission was not obligatory but given freely. I loved it.
One Saturday I was working there and it was pretty busy. I noticed that there was lots of demand for a certain type of local newspaper but we didn’t sell it at the store at the moment. I knew then that there was a store at the other side of the street who was selling this local newspaper. So I went there and I bought 10 of them for 80 cents each. I came back where I was working and sold them for 1 buck each.
This was my first experience with trading, selling and helping others as a business.

Social paradigm
When I was small I was thought that you need to do your best at school, get a good education to get a steady job so you can earn good money. Back than there was lots of people struggling to get a decent job and the reason was that they didn’t do their best in school. So I was sold to this idea and it seems pretty obvious back then.
So I did good in school. I was working at the carwash earning a decent profit and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. So I pursued my bachelor in business and economics. little did I know but one thing I was sure, I wanted to enjoy life, being rich on my own terms. So business economics was at that time the only option I could come up with. It was a really hard and difficult period for me living abroad and having nothing and noone else.

Getting along
Now that I finished school I needed a job because I was in debt. Nobody told me that finishing school will leave me in dept. So I accepted a job in finance. A decent planning and control job at the local government. I like the idea of helping society and I am still ambitious. The time I was a student I lived in different student houses and thought that I can do the renting room service much better. So after 6 months working I bought my first house divided it in two and start renting rooms. I lived in one part of the house and the other part was for rent. This was my entry into the real estate, buy for let.

The hustle (escaping the office)
So years goes by. Day in day out going to work because that is socially accepted. In the meantime I am reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Reading all kinds of self help books. Listening to lots of seminars and attracting lots of interesting people and situations. And lots of tapes that I am listening they were referring to Network Marketing.

So basically listing to Bob Proctor, Les Brown and Jim Rohn led me into Network Marketing and I love it.
