Hello friends, with this post we start in the publications where we expose the process of creating graphic material in different modalities. Today we start with the business Isologo.
So that everyone understands what we are talking about, we will give some concepts:
- 1- Logo is the most common term used by, well, almost everyone. “Logo” mens word and comes from the latin. So, additional elements like symbols, images or icons in the text does not represent a logo. Because a Logo is always a Lettering, typesetting, is only a grouping of letters or words.
- 2- Imagotype comes from “imago” latin that means “image” (This is my favorite and most common one). It’s the combination of the symbol/image + Lettering. The key is the balance between the icon and the word, they are typically used together and separately, so these could turn into an icon and a logo.
- 3- Isologo this one blends the Image/Icon + Text in a single element with interaction. They don’t work separately.
The three images correspond to part of what makes up the branding of a company, association or any figure that uses it.
- Branding as "the process of creating a relationship or a connection between a company's product and emotional perception of the customer for the purpose of generating segregation among competition and building loyalty among customers".
With this little introduction, let's now see in detail how the creation of the Costa Mountain company isologue was carried out.
First let's start by seeing our client:
Costa Montaña is a hotel, recreational center, gastronomic center, and ecological center with planting and farm animals. It is located on the Caribbean coast, specifically on the Venezuelan central coast, in the village of Todosana.

One of the things that the client wanted was to play with the images present in the name of the company, the mountain and the coast. Another was to highlight the ecological character of the hotel and the tranquility of which the place is characterized.

There are many techniques for the creation of an isotope, from drawing with rapidograph to 3d modeling, in this case start with a freehand drawing with charcoal on paper.
Based on the conversations with the client I made several proposals, some did not pass the paper; all came from experimentation with the two invariable images. Each model was a different way of approaching the issue: one was to play with the line they form, the silhouette that goes from the mountain to the sea, another to go to the minimum of both images; a third was free drawing and another combined those already raised.
Then perform the scanning using a scanner, which interpreted the image of the paper and converted it into a digital file. then that vector image, which is like drawing on the drawing under the Ilustration software. I leave you the concept:
- Vectorization consists of converting images that are formed by pixels into images formed by vectors.
- Vector graphics are computer graphics images that are defined in terms of 2D points, which are connected by lines and curves to form polygons and other shapes.
After vectorization, only these three preselected designs remained.
Vectorization allows me to clean the lines of the drawings. and improve the shape of the curves. After showing the client the proposals, I remain undecided between 2. I took the vectorized designs and worked with Photoshop software to create proposals with color, since I feel comfortable working color in this program.
After the deliberation we had a winner...
Both the client and we felt that he fulfilled transmitting what we needed, coast and mountain of course, the ecology and a freshness and tranquility that resembled that paradise in the middle of the Caribbean that is Costa Montaña.
With this post we started a series based on the creation of a company's Branding.
