Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have noticed some folks can be pretty toxic in general. Blogging here is one of the best ways to get involved with the Hive community overall and get free rewards to roll into other projects or SplinterLands itself. I'm sure you already knew that.
If some folks spent as much or half of their time here engaging in comments and community they would see how beneficial it is to be part of the Hive community. I don't see so many getting rewarded with all their time over on discord. I know networking and connecting is good over there but here it's a much greater opportunity. Hell, here you can get rewarded just for distributing your daily votes curating. I see it as a win-win-win here.
I wish you well in your endeavors and don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. More than a few of the folks you mentioned are awesome people. Hang in there and keep on keepin on.
My account is the same as here @castleberry
Put me down for the bandit, deceiver, or the gargoyle, please.
It's okay it happens, I mean hive overall has been a pretty welcoming and pleasant experience. Yeah I think what I'm going to do first is see which communities and projects I want to support on here first, but all of it I want to roll it into itself just to see what 1 year of that would look like. I do pretty well trading in splinterlands that I don't really need to supplement that much but I guess it could help me to explore more different projects that I wouldn't have normally got involved in because of pricepoint to test out and try. I actually have an axie account and dragonary that has just been sitting there idol for the little over a month I've been in splinterlands and exploring the hive network.
Yeah for me it isn't so much the rewards although that itself is rather gratifying and I am grateful for them, but for me it is about branding and community building as a whole as I keep thinking what I want my "Legacy" to be in life. I mean I think time on discord is very important because it is through there that I was able to build so many unique and amazing relationships.
Yeah I'm all about win-win-win haha it is actually a philosophy I tried to preach to my previous guild is to always think win-win and if ever gotten the chance to think win-win-win where the community at large also wins. I think that's why I didn't just spam the hive with a bunch of giveaway posts and posts about strategy/markets because I didn't want to attract that type of crowd and at the same time I think posting strategy and about the markets may just make more farmers/prices to increase and I don't want that as a net result.
I really appreciate your thoughtful response so have some !PIZZA and I'll be sending you all 3 of the cards you requested. As you said sometimes it pays to go above and beyond with a little more heartfelt of a response <3 #5
I really appreciate the cards you sent. It's funny because these are the first ones i have ever gotten before from a giveaway or contest. The only cards i have ever acquired were from playing and getting rewards. I made a post back in the Alpha days and used my rewards from the post to buy the starter deck. I got some other cards airdropped since i had old ones. I think i may have only purchased a few packs in the early days with my Hive rewards. Well, back then it was on Steem but you know what i mean.
My whole account here on Hive has been built from organic growth. I think i put 100$ of the stimulus check money we got last year. Of course, i didn't grow my account alone as it took community and friends to care and share votes, comments, and such. It's i even took about a year off of the blockchain due to some life situations. If i had been grinding that whole time i probably would be much further along.
I hear you though. It's cool you are here in Texas as well. I know relationships and networking are important and i too spend much time on discord for it. But, i was mostly referring to the whiners in general that blame the whales for everything and how expensive stuff is when they could be over here actually contributing to something bigger than just in it to earn.
Rewards are part of the bonus really. Most people that are ONLY in it for rewards don't last long. I think some of the friends i have made on this platform have really made a much more enriching personal experience for me personally. Hopefully, i have helped enrich their experience a bit here and there too. I won't write a complete book here... but i would suggest that whatever you are interested in there is probably a community for it. Getting involved in a community is a great way to get rolling. Just engaging within the comments of posts you like can be beneficial in more ways than one. I am probably not telling you anything you don't already know i am guessing.
Thanks again for the conversation and the cards bro!
Wow... no that was great I enjoy the conversations quite refreshing quite honestly, but I can also be reached in discord at InfinityTcg#8041 so it is more of a dialogue lol but no rush as this post and responding to it leaves me somewhat drained...
Lol reading and writing are probably one of the things I dislike the most so I guess that is what makes it a little exhausting. I've been in the Tcg/ccg community for about 20+ years and when I say in the community I mean neck deep in it lol over 50,000 hours probably spent playing/thinking/trading cards... so yeah to me this is more of a exploration of myself and try to look into other interests and finding more about myself
Cool... i will hit you up over there! That's a lot of hours bro! hahaha
