A Needle When You Need It!

Needlework has always been present in my life. It is not all I do, but it is one of the things that I always come back to when I need a change of pace in my creative repertoire. For me, needlework encompasses more than just my stitching skills. Since I most often create my own designs and patterns, it therefore also utilizes my artistic, technical, logical, graphic, creative, and organizational skills.

A stitch in time saves nine!

The one thing I detest though when it comes to stitchery, are repairs and alterations... that is when procrastination becomes my first, middle and last name when presented with such dreadfully cumbersome tasks, to the point that my husband's coveralls have sat in a container in my studio for two years and counting, waiting for me to fix the sleeves... thankfully, he has more than one pair of coveralls!

Perhaps, if as in my last #needleworkmonday post here, where I presented to you the history of a hussif and my original design, if I had my own hussif I would be more inclined to be tempted to perform said repairs immediately.... nah, kidding.... but they are such pretty and functional accessories it is worth owning one, even if just to look at!

Not all needle cases need to be big or even full of accessories, they can also be simple and yet still quite functional.

This needle case features an outer pin/needle cushion which has been embellished with Brazilian Embroidery.

The case is tied up with a delicate string which wraps around a vintage button and finished off with a pretty heart charm.

Open up the case and it holds a variety of needles suitable for general sewing, or as in the case of this one which is for another needleworker, needles suitable for embroidery work. It never hurts to add a little bit of pretty embroidery just to liven up a rather dull interior.
