I guess luck is dearly needed - because skills are missing :-DDD I now will put the skirt sway for some days and try something else, but I will surely come back to it.
And you having a grandmother who can professionally sew is amazing. Did she made things for you and/or did you learn from her?

She made things for us, of course but I didn't learn to sew, or not from her. I started sewing by hand, now I have a sewing machine but rarely use it. Still learning but if I want to be honest, I'm still afraid of it 😁
Me too, the sewing machine is so much faster than my hands :-DDD By heart I am more a knitter or crocheter, but I love clothes so much (shame on me) that I am determined to master this machine 💪🏻 😄
